How to update a BFT motherboard?

It may be necessary to update a BFT motherboard to the latest firmware version.
This update can help to:

  • Add a new feature.
  • Make the card compatible with new equipment.
  • Correcting a malfunction.

The update procedure depends on the type of installation.

1 / Update via EASYAXS app (remote update)

If the motherboard is equipped with a B EBA Wi-Fi or B EBA 4G communication card, the update can be performed remotely.

Steps:

  • Log in to the EASYAXS app.
  • Access the customer's account, the update information appears.
  • Start the firmware update.

Advantage : No on-site intervention is required.

The update of a motherboard not equipped with a B-EBA at the customer's premises can however be updated via a B-EBA card from the installer. It thus serves as a relay for the duration of the update. Then, once the update is complete, simply disconnect the B-EBA card.

2 / On-site update – return to after-sales service

If the installation does not have a BEBA WiFi or 4G card, the update cannot be done remotely.

In this case:

  • The motherboard must be returned to the BFT after-sales service.
  • The update is carried out in the BFT premises.
  • The motherboard is then sent back to be reinstalled.

This solution concerns unconnected installations.

3 / Special case: installations with master and slave

In an installation with a master motor and a slave motor, it is imperative that both motherboards have the exact same firmware version. If the versions are different, the installation will not work properly.

When should you be vigilant?
  • Motherboard replacement (after-sales service).
  • Added a new automation.
  • Modification of the existing installation.
What to do?
  • Check the firmware versions of both boards
  • If the versions are different:
      • Update the affected map.
      • By following the procedure described in point 1 (EASYAXS) or point 2 (after-sales service) as appropriate.

The two boards must be strictly identical in firmware version to ensure that the installation works properly.
